Calvin and Hobbes

Hobbes is actually a cuddly toy, but to Calvin he's a real live tiger. To everyone else he's just a cuddly toy.

Calvin is named after the Swiss–born 16th century French religious reformer John Calvin; Hobbes is named after the 17th century English political philosopher Thomas Hobbes.

Created by the American cartoonist Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes was syndicated in newspapers around the world from 1985 to 1995. It has been described as "the last great newspaper comic".
